This scholarship is available for PhD candidates in Informatics, focusing specifically on Quantum Computing Theory or Software Systems. Under the guidance of Dr. Niel de Beaudrap, selected scholars will embark on full-time research that pushes the envelope of what's currently possible in quantum computing.

Scholarship Value

The selected candidate will benefit from:

  • A tax-free stipend of £19,237 per year.
  • Waived tuition fees for the duration of their study.
  • A one-off Research and Training Support Grant of £2,000 to aid in their research endeavors.

Eligibility

  • Open to UK, EU, and overseas applicants, promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Applicants must hold an upper second-class (2:1) undergraduate honours degree or equivalent in a related field, such as mathematics, physics, or theoretical computer science.
  • A strong interest in quantum computation is essential, with a preference for candidates demonstrating proficiency in the relevant disciplines.
