Scholarship Overview
Applications for the Obama Foundation Global Leaders Programme are being accepted from suitably qualified candidates. This program aims to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders in order to accelerate positive and long-term change in their communities, regions, and around the world. The program will bring together emerging leaders from each region, where they will participate in weekly practical tools and training for deepening values-based leadership.
The Obama Foundation Leaders program is a six-month virtual leadership development journey designed to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders in order to accelerate positive and long-term change in their communities, regions, and around the world. The Foundation runs Leaders programs in three international regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Leaders of the Obama Foundation come from a wide range of countries and territories, work in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and address a wide range of social impact issues. The Leaders program provides practical skill development for social change, leadership coaching, critical issue discussion, and small group support. Obama Leaders also take part in a variety of virtual experiences and special events, such as one-on-one conversations with experienced mentors from the Foundation's global network.
Eligibility for the Obama Foundation Global Leaders Programme
Eligible applicants must meet the following:
- You must be a citizen of one of the eligible nations or territories.
- You are a permanent resident of a qualifying country or territory.
- You are a refugee or asylum seeker in a country or territory that qualifies.
- You have lived in an eligible country or territory for at least 5 years, regardless of your immigration status.
- Show at least three years of relevant experience in your field.
- On July 15, 2023, you must be between the ages of 24 and 25.
- Professional English proficiency is required (spoken and written).
- Commit to participating fully throughout the program's duration.
