Scholarship Overview

Forms of benefits:

YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship: This scholarship is designed specifically for international students who have been accepted into an undergraduate degree program. Under this scheme, all students who demonstrate a commitment to spreading the #YouAreWelcomeHere message by bridging intercultural divides will benefit. This scholarship covers the $25,000 annual tuition fee. This scholarship is renewable for an additional eight semesters.
International Tuition Grant: Awarded to international students, this scholarship covers $25,000, $21,000, or $18,000 per year for eight semesters. Students will be chosen for this scholarship based on their academic performance, student involvement, application essay, English proficiency, and geographic diversity.

The Global Ambassador Grant will be awarded to international students based on their academic performance, student involvement, application essay, English proficiency, and geographic diversity. Students will receive $7,000 per year for eight semesters under this scheme.
Red Cedar Scholarship: Students will receive $1250 per year for eight semesters under this program.
Presidential Study Abroad Scholarship: Students will receive $3,000 or $5,000 depending on the length of the program.

Honors College Excellence Scholarship: Under this program, students will receive $13,000 per year for eight semesters. This program is designed for international students who have been invited to Honors College.
Professorial Assistantship: Students will receive an annual stipend of approximately $3,500 for working 8-10 hours per week on faculty-mentored research or scholarly activity, which is renewable for four semesters.
Honors College Distinction Scholarship: Under this program, all non-resident Honors College invitees who are US citizens, permanent residents, or citizens of Canada or Mexico will receive $5,000 per semester for eight semesters.

  • Applicant must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the university for the course they have chosen for study.

Application instructions

  • Visit the official website of Michigan State University.
  • Navigate to the Admissions tab from the home page.
  • A new page will open after you select the Cost and Aid option.
  • Select the scholarship option, followed by the international student scholarship option.
  • Go to the "YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship" page and click on the apply button, or click here.
  • Print the application form after downloading it.
  • After completing the course application, complete the application form and email it to admis@msu.edu before the deadline.
